Summer Changes.

Summer seems to be drifting away. These past months have seemed strangely empty. I say strangely because I have been doing many things!          I went on the most amazing week long Catholic retreat. The talks were so inspirational and helped me with so many things. We had a day of silence, and though I confess that I was not always silent the times that were quiet really moved me. I was not looking forward to the silence as I find it hard to not talk xD. But I really think some of my best memories were from that silently wonderful day. (We had an hour of adoration in the chapel at 11 pm <3)           I also assisted with a kids program at church and that was really fun, attended a dance and experienced our first staycation. As well as that, in the beginning of summer, there was play practice. But once the first retreat ended not much happened. Only lots of book reading and Tutus Tuus. Of course, it ha...

One of my favorite bloggers shares one of her favorite books!

here is a spectacular guest post from a spectacular person, who has a spectacular blog! I love her blog, a very close friend of mine showed me this blog back when we shared a blog with another very close friend. And I loved it right away! Amanda is a very creative funny person as you will come to now if you read her e-magazine and her blog! She graciously agreed to guest post on my blog, and let me post on hers! ( I am not sure when my post will be on her blog, but I hope you like it!  Here is her post!  JANE EYRE Hey, readers! Thanks for hanging out with me today on Emma's lovely blog. It's a pleasure to be here! I'm a voracious bookworm, and have been ever since I discovered the written word. I love both partaking of (reading) and creating (writing) words. Which is perfect, because my website, SKGfun, is a conglomeration of both reading and writing. Love reading? You'll want to read our blog weekly and then check out our bimonthly e-...

Of letters and Love

Dearest, I fell behind today. A storm came up and as I was looking for shelter, I slipped, and suddenly I was sitting in a mud puddle. I ruined the cloak you gave me, I am certain the dirt will never come out. But all day, I could think of you only, my darling. Even as I sat in the puddle that was to ruin my cloak, I could think of nothing but the laughter my clumsiness would have brought you. Somehow that made it easier to get up and find shelter. Even so, losing almost a whole day of travel is a crushing feeling. I must leave the rest of this pitiful letter to you, my love, for another time. For it is getting dark and I must gather wood.       Always yours Beloved, I have the best of news, last night's frost did not kill me. I must confess, that as my already feeble fire dwindled down to nothing, I felt all the courage and hope I had ever had leave me; and to fill the hole my lack of confidence left, came despair a...

2017

Hello It has already been 2017 for 3 days, so this post is late. But that doesn't matter. I am so incredibly excited for this year, even if I am only now just realizing that as fact. I know that 2017 will likely bring hardships as every year does, but it will also bring amazing experiences and memories, just like 2016 and years before.  I am thrilled to be able to have this year. There will be great moments with friends, there will be life lessons, there will be growing in faith. Because this year, I will be trying so hard to get to know my heavenly family better, and I can't wait. I know I will struggle with this task many times, but I will try to push forward. I will also be trying to do better with my home life. And, in a weird way, that also makes me excited. It will feel so good to be helping around the house! And, I do really want to do better with my writing, which is an intimidating idea. I think the main reason I haven't been keeping up with my bl...

Thanksgiving!

I just want to start off by wishing all you fantastic readers an amazing Thanksgiving! I hope it showers you with blessings like mine has already done. I went over to visit the sweet, loving and caring older lady who lives across from us with my little(ish) sister Elsa. And I am thankful for her. She is just so kind to us and gives us the most amazingly tight hugs every time we see her. She found out that I am allergic to earrings that are not gold or silver, so she went to her jewelry box and found some earrings she thinks are gold! It isn't the earrings that mean so much to me. It's her generosity and her love that makes me so thankful for her; she is always ready to lend a hand. I love her. I have two amazing priests at my Catholic church. They have done so much for me and my church. They have introduced Vespers to my parish, they always have my family in their prayers, and I am so thankful for them. Our life would be so diff...

I Entered a Writing Contest!?!?!

I entered a writing contest today. and holy moly I am nervous!  Especially after reading my entry, because I saw thing i want to change but I've already sent it in! i will give you the story exactly like it was when i sent it in though  I really want to get 3rd place or an honorable mention , ( there is no way i can get 2nd or 1st ) I have never had my writing judged by real judges before so i am kinda dying. But I think my storey is good.       Anyway, here is the link to the monday minute challenge, you guys should enter! Okay, so they give you things you have to incorporate in your story, you can use one, or all of them, but you have to have at least one in your story. I only used one, a mirror. My submission is 225 words Revealing Reflection        In its reflection, I saw myself as I really was. I remembered as I looked at my myself now, how I used to feel when I looked into a mirror, I was always left dissatisfied, and hurt. “...

LOOK ITS THE PLAY! A Merchant in Venice!!! :D

Heyo! Here are the links to the play I was in! There are two nights, I am in both nights, but they have two people playing some of the girl characters, so thats why i am giving you links to both nights!        I'm so sad it's over! Putting my script away was harder than ever before. I actually put it off for a few days. I love taking it out and looking at everyone's signatures. You see, after every play we all sign scripts. It's one of my favorite parts about being in a play. I love it when the directors write little notes when they sign your script! I just LOVE acting! This year I had the most lines i've ever had! I guess that why it was harder to put m y script away!?!?!! Anywho, this play is long, but you should watch all of it!  Please do!  Of course not both ( unless you want to) But watch one to the every ending of curtain call! There are so many cool dances and even singing! It's so worth watching! Saturday night: https://www.youtube.com/w...

So, idk what to post about really, i just felt it was time to start blogging again! well, i guess i could talk about what's going on in my life right now, lol!         My sister Gabi is leaving in 4 days, on september 6th to go to a formation house called ' Mater Redemptoris House of Formation ' while there she will have a whole month home for Christmas vacation. After a year there she will stay home for one summer and then join the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne. We are so happy for her but we'll miss her a ton! Its so cool to know that i'll have a sister who is, well, a sister! xD It makes me wonder what the rest of us will do.       Other than that, my brother and sister ( Noah and Bethany )  are at college, freshmen year. So once Gabi is is gone, I'll be the oldest girl at home, with only two older siblings at home, one working a...

Quote of the week

Image
This is my quote of the week! It's really true! Especially right now!

Do the 'little' things.

Doing simple, little, easy, and nice things can make a world of difference to your life and others. And sometimes we all need a  reminder to do the 'little' things. Because, really, they  aren't that little. Sometimes the things that make us feel the happiest and most loved are the small things people say or do for you. So here is a list of 'little things' you can do around the home and in public paces. (1) If you notice someone looking nice, or singing beautifully, or drawing a pretty picture, tell them. Maybe that person you just complimented really wasn't having a  good day,and your nice words may have made them feel so much better. Words have a lot of impact. (2) If you're at a restaurant, and your waiter really isn't being the nicest they could be, don't be mean or unpleasant back. You have no idea what's going on in there life, Who knows? Spread positivity and you'll find lots more positivity around you. (3) Offer to make a tea fo...

It makes me happy

Image
You know what makes me happy? We have these sunflower seeds that we got for the chickens we have. Sometimes I take a handful and throw them around the yard near the window beside the spot where I do almost all my school, that way birds will come and eat the seeds. So when I look out my window during school hours I sometimes see 1 to 8( or some, idk xD) birds there, and it's so lovely.they are so brightly colored, and sometimes they sing.       I wish I could whistle like a bird, one of my many brothers can whistle a lot like a mourning dove. Anyway, the birds just kind of fill me with happiness and peace.and if I look up from the ground I see the  neighbors yard. It looks so beautiful with all the new, freshly colored leaves and the flowers blooming there. it's all just too wonderful. Spring is an amazing thing.      Isn't it nice that God has made so many beautiful things for us to enjoy? Imagine a world wit...

Don't worry, I'm not dead! ;)

Hey friends, I'm alive, even though I did seem to have fallen off the face of the earth! ( if you want to see what I've been doing since you last heard from me, cheek here https://the3musketeerssite.wordpress.com/ )  Okay, I feel so so bad! I haven't posted since November 3rd. I promised that I would keep posting, and I didn't. But I am going to try my best to start posting way more! To help me with that, I have made a schedule. I find that having a deadline really helps me get things done, even if I'm rushing the day before, I usually get my blog posts finished. Anywho, My new schedule will be On Mondays, and whenever a really good idea pops into my head! For my next post, I think I'll share some poems I've written! See ya in a week! Have a great day, week, month, year and life! Love,    ~Emma

Quotes yet again!

Image
So, you remember my earlier quote about books, and how books make me feel? And if you think back even earlier then that, the you might remember my quotes from Jane Austen, well I have more quotes. I was thinking maybe I could post quotes like once a month. But I want my viewers opinion. So, tell me what you think in the comments! Anyway, get ready for some meaningful quotes about life!( oh, yeah, some will probably be sad, so run and get a handkerchief before you continue on!)                                                                                                                          Beautiful, at least that's my Impression! YES! Remember that! This...

For Narnia, and for Aslan!

Image
Hey guys! I'm back!! I told you I wouldn't forget about this blog! It only been ten day since my last post, but it feels like it's been 3 weeks! So, for today, I wanted to talk about Narnia, kinda like a review. Not a what happened in the series, but how it makes me feel. And what it makes me think. Just in case any of my readers have been unlucky enough to have never read Narnia books. So here I go! I hope you enjoy! So, I think I'll talk about The lion, The witch, And the wardrobe. This book, nay, this world of imagination, which is what I think books should be called, anyway, this 'book' is amazing. C.S.lewis is amazing. The book, it helped me understand Jesus a tad bit better. If that makes any sense.  Like, the book brings you into another world. You can just connect with the characters. C.S. Lewis  paints a picture with his words.  It is one of the stories that manages to give you pleasure, and teach you a lesson! And, you can tell,...

Memories

So today I was reading my Mom's old blog, and it brought back old memories!  I feel so nostalgic! I was just remembering what it was like to be a very little kid ( I say very, cause, let's face it, I'm still kinda a kid!) It makes me kind of wish I was younger, but at the same time, I want to get older! I think it's wonderful that I can look back and remember what it was like when you and your siblings were younger, but at the same time, barely remember the bad parts!I think it interesting how you have a whole different perspective when you grow up! A while back I thought the only reason everything seems smaller was because I had grown so much, but then someone remarked that one of the reasons things seem smaller than they used to, was because I'd seen more of the world! And that just made sense! Now I wanna talk about memories some more.  I have this really sweet, practically perfect memory, I was around five or six, and I was outside with a lot of my sibling...

Caddie Woodlawn( I stole this post idea from my Sister Anna!)

Hello friends!! So I was reading Anna's old blog and I came across a post called Caddie Woodlawn, I thought it was really good! I Even thought Anna had written it!  But I wasn't entirely sure, so i looked up "Caddie woodlawn" and it was a book! How Silly can I get???? xD lol! Anyway, I just think this is a really meaningful, sweet and beautiful   paragraph, but that is just my impression, please tell me yours in the comments!  Emma It's a strange thing, but somehow we expect more of girls than of boys. It is the sisters and wives and mothers, you know, Caddie, who keep the world sweet and beautiful. What a rough world it would be if there were only men and boys in it, doing things in their rough way! A woman's task is to teach them gentleness and courtesy and love and kindness. It's a big task, too, Caddie - harder than cutting trees or building mills or damming rivers. It takes nerve and courage and patience, but good women have those things. They hav...

Who offended the wind today?

Who offended the wind today? Someone must have, for the wind came stomping in today. He slammed the door shut, he rushed through the trees. I ask again, who offended the wind today? He was roaring like a lion. I’d like to ask, Mr wind why are you so upset? Mr wind, what made you knock down the little bird in the bird-bath?  He pulled at the grass, he insulted the daisies in the daisy patch. He picked up the fallen leaves and threw them up high. Who offended the wind today? I’d like to ask, Mr wind, would you like to come in? You could tell me your troubles. I asked. He only flew away. Who offended the wind today?
